My Story
Mi Cuento
I began my teaching career at Crockett Elementary in Bryan ISD as a 3rd Grade Bilingual Teacher—just two months before walking the stage to receive my Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. During my time at Crockett, I taught both 3rd and 4th grade in a bilingual setting, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong passion for equity, language, technology and learning.
In 2006, my family relocated to the Austin area, and I joined Round Rock ISD as a 5th Grade Bilingual Teacher at Bluebonnet Elementary. Over the years, I also taught at Union Hill and Purple Sage Elementary, each experience deepening my ability to build inclusive, student-centered classrooms.
In 2016, I transitioned into the role of Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS) at Brushy Creek Elementary. One of the highlights of my time there was leading our transformation into a Computer Coding Campus. Our vision was to embed creative technology experiences into the school day, ensuring equitable and engaging opportunities for every student.
In Fall 2024, I transitioned to Wells Branch Elementary to serve as ITS. During the 2024–2025 school year, I grew as an instructional leader, coaching 5th grade teachers in Science while also returning to the classroom to teach 5th Grade Dual Language Science. This dual role allowed me to strengthen my instructional voice while helping the campus redefine its vision for purposeful technology integration.
Looking ahead to Fall 2025, I will continue serving as ITS—this time supporting both Wells Branch and Anderson Mill Elementary. I remain committed to building a culture of colaboración, innovación y liderazgo instruccional, where bilingualism and digital literacy are celebrated and leveraged to empower every learner.
My Style
Mi Estilo
My work is fueled by a genuine passion for people, learning, and growth. I bring energía y propósito to everything I do—whether I’m teaching, mentoring, or supporting others through change. I believe that equity isn’t just a value—it’s a responsabilidad, and I strive to ensure that every student and educator I work with feels seen, heard, and supported.
I thrive in spaces where ideas flow freely, voices are uplifted, and everyone grows together. I embrace curiosity and continuous learning, always seeking new ways to innovar y adaptarme—with the ultimate goal of making a meaningful impact.
I lead with heart, humility, and the belief that we grow stronger juntos/as. I aim to create spaces where people feel safe to take risks, embrace challenges, and move forward with confidence.
Striving for excellence
Luchando la excelencia
Each day, I try to show up as the person I aspire to become. Continuous improvement is my guiding principle—la mejora continua es mi brújula. I enjoy listening to a variety of podcasts that fuel both my personal and professional growth, from leadership and sports to simply becoming a better version of myself. While podcasts and audiobooks don’t always hold my attention, I remain committed to strengthening my listening skills and finding ways to engage more meaningfully.
I’ve come to understand that leadership also means knowing when to step back and let others take the lead. As a coach, I strive to be present, purposeful, and culturally responsive—one reflection, one relationship, and one step at a time.

Growing from humble beginnings
Creciendo desde comienzos humildes
I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas—la orgullosa hermana de tres hermanos. My husband and I have been building our life together for nearly 30 years, rooted infamilia y aventuras compartidas.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Spanish (¡Gig 'em!), and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Instructional Technology Leadership at Lamar University. This journey has deepened my passion for integrating tecnología con instrucción intencional to support all learners—especially in bilingual and Title I settings.
We’re proud parents of two incredible daughters. Gabriella recently earned her MBA and now works in Trademark & Licensing in Florida. Issabella is completing her Master’s in Ciencias Marinas, with a bold and fascinating goal: tagging sharks! ¡Hay cucuy!
If you ask me what my favorite season is, I’ll say: sports, hands down—especially College GameDay with a hot cup of coffee in hand. I also love spending time with family, collecting shoes, watching action movies (with popcorn, of course), viajar, pescar y construir con Legos whenever I get the chance.
