Final Publication Draft
This final journal submission, Beyond the Desk: Using Collaborative Learning to Improve TELPAS Outcomes and Student Engagement, demonstrates how innovative technology practices can transform student learning and teacher collaboration. Through the integration of TikTok-inspired short videos, English learners engaged in authentic, low-stakes speaking opportunities that enhanced their confidence and oral language proficiency. The reflection synthesizes course concepts such as CALL, MALL, and multimodal learning, illustrating how theory informed practice in a Title I, dual-language setting.
This article has not yet been submitted to the Forum on Technology in Practice; it will be formally submitted at the conclusion of my participating in Round Rock ISD’s RRock Star Aspiring Assistant Principal Cohort in Spring 2026 as part of my capstone project. This submission exceeds target criteria by presenting deep insights, clear organization, and critical connections between research, instructional design, and professional growth within the EDLD 5317 Compilation: Contributions to Learning framework.
